Top 10 States With Highest Cases of Chlamydia for 2009

Chlamydia is known as a human sexually transmitted disease or STD that is a result of the bacterium known as Chlamydia trachomatis. In the United States, there are a total of 529,973 cases reported in 2009. The top 10 states infected by the STD for the same year are as follows:

1. California. In 2009, there were a total of 63,019 Chlamydia cases reported in this US State. This is 76.65% of the total reported for the Pacific area and 11.89% of the total for the entire nation. The total is.12% of California’s total population of over 36.9 million.

2. Texas. With 45,511 incidents, Texas ranks number two to California in terms of the number of Chlamydia Cases in the country.
