Fungal infection is an oft reported skin ailment. The common ones are athlete’s foot or the jock itch which must be instantly catered to. Else, they would be quite troublesome, and simply reject all remedial measures by the patient. This infection strikes the nails and the areas between fingers, both of hands and legs. The villain is the fungus tinea. They thrive in feet of people wearing shoes most of the time. Their feet generally sweat and also smell. The moist warm conditions between the fingers are the ideal breeding grounds for tinea fungus.

The best way to treat this fungal infection is to wear loose fitting clothing, keep clean and dry the targeted or already infected areas, and wear shower sandals in bathing places particularly the public ones. Never use in other parts of the body the same damp towel you use to dry the infected areas. If you do so, you’d be spreading the ailment to those portions of the body as well.

What Are Fungi?

The term ‘Fungi’ refers to minute organisms of varied group. They sustain on food from organic matter that are already dead or even living. They germinate from spores (reproductive cells) having an outer coat that is quite thick. It resists them from adverse environmental situations and that is how they survive for pretty long periods. Well, that is also the reason why fungal infections take long time to be taken care of.

Some fungi attack the tissues of internal organs. Mention may be made of yeast. It invades the genital tract. Many species of fungi cause a form of pneumonia.

The fungi that cause skin problems in humans are external parasites. These fungi cause the typical skin ailments like jock itch, athlete’s foot, and the ringworm syndrome.

Popular Grug

One of the generally prescribed antifungal remedies for several fungal infections of the skin is Clotrimazole. You can use it in combination with other medications as well. This drug is effective in treating jock itch, athlete’s foot, thrush, and ringworm symptoms. The medicine disables the fungus by damaging its cell walls. Thus it inhibits the growth of the fungus. It can also be used for such fungal illnesses of the vagina and the mouth. Vaginal infections caused by yeast are also treated with this medication.

Recovery time

The recovery period is usually witnessed after two-three weeks from the start of the treatment.

Prescription

Available across the counter as lozenges, lotion, skin cream, liquid solution, as well as vaginal tablet and vaginal cream, it needs to be applied in the infected areas daily. You might have to use it once or twice depending on the nature of infection.

First clean the area with fresh water (soap is an irritant);

Then wipe it dry with a white cotton cloth;

Finally massage the Clotrimazole drug into the skin.

Note: The methodologies are different with the lozenges and if it is to be used for vaginal infection. You will have to dissolve the lozenges in your mouth, five to six times daily with gaps of two hours between dozes. The lozenges are not recommended for kids below five years of age.
With respect to yeast infection, use an applicator to insert the prescribed drug into the vagina.

The drug should not come in contact with eyes.

Warning

While on Clotrimazole take note of the following situations:

* Never use the drug if there is vaginal discharge.
* Avoid sexual intercourse or remember to use a condom.
* It is advisable not to use it during pregnancy and nursing.
* Don’t use the medication if you are having fever or suffering from abdominal pain.

Side effects

Sexual intercourse after vaginal application of the drug may lead to irritation on the part of the patient’s partner.
During sexual intercourse, the patient may experience vaginal itching or burning; discomfort during intercourse; headache; or abdominal cramps.
Consult your doctor in such situations.

There are many kinds of vaginal infection that is why it is very important that you know more about this medical condition common among women. Help yourself become aware of the various reasons why a woman may acquire such vaginal infections; so that you will be quick in determining what could be the most viable solutions or remedies to this women problem.

Like for instance, women suffering from bacterial vaginosis, one of the most common types of vaginal infection, usually obtain such contamination when there are more of the bad than the good bacteria developing in the vaginal area of the woman.

Having distress in the natural flora of a woman is what is most commonly known to trigger such condition. Be not afraid about having such condition, because in fact, there are about 200,000 women or more who have been confirmed suffering from the same type of infection.

More often than not, doctors prescribe antibiotics to patients to treat vaginal infection. They have been proven effective when it comes to treating the said infection but then, there is always the chance that the infection will always persist. That is why nowadays, you will hear a lot of women who do not believe anymore in taking antibiotics to cure their own vaginal infections. Instead, they opt for the more natural ways of treating the condition.

Make sure to know which natural ingredients you will need to keep in your bathroom’s medicine cabinet so that anytime you notice the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, you will be able to immediately carry out the necessary treatment. Folic acid, tea tree oil, hydrogen peroxide, apple cider vinegar, probiotics are just a few of the natural ingredients that can truly alleviate the symptoms of your vaginal infection.

Last but not least, take time to also know the symptoms. In that way, you will know when to administer treatment at the very onset of the infection. Make sure you develop a sharp sense of smell so that you will right away be able to detect if what you have is a bacterial or yeast infection in the genitalia. Keep in mind that you will not be able to sense any fishy odor if it is a yeast infection. The instant you detect a fishy stench in your vagina, then you can right away conclude that what you have is a bacterial infection or worse, a sexually transmitted disease.

Most people are familiar with the use and reasons to use traditional male condoms to prevent disease and pregnancy. What about the relatively new female condom? How good are they, and should you consider using them?

In 2003 the Philadelphia Department of Public Health conducted a study of over 1400 women patients at a sexually transmitted disease clinic. The women volunteers were given small-group education on safe sex and free condoms. The women were randomly selected for the male condom group or the female condom group. The women were then evaluated over time for new cases of the sexually transmitted diseases gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, and trichomoniasis.

In the first round of evaluation, there were slightly less new cases of disease among women who used the female design. The results were not statistically significant, which means that the differences may have been due to chance rather than to female type being better than the male type. However, on the second analysis, the rate of disease was about 25% higher in male condom users than in female condom users.

The good news is that both types reduced the disease rate substantially over what would be expected with no condom use. Additional good news is that while the difference between the safety of the male and female condom was not dramatic, the female design is clearly as reliable as the male design in preventing disease.

In addition to birth control and disease prevention, the female condom has a few other advantages. It can be inserted before sexual activity begins, so both partners can enjoy greater spontaneity. It puts the woman in control of contraception and STD prevention, so even if the man is reluctant to use a condom himself, the choice is made for him. Its polyurethane construction also eliminates the potential for allergic reactions posed by latex.

Although they are growing in popularity, female condoms can be hard to find at your local store. Fortunately, they are readily available online, along with dozens of other sexual health products.

There is nothing more embarrassing than having an itch on the vagina when out socializing. It’s funny if you think about it, if an itch is on the end of your nose, your head or ear you scratch it regardless of who stands before you, but when it’s round the crotch/anus then the way we get relief is not so openly done. Could this have something to do with why the genitals are called the privates, hence the secrecy between fingers meeting up with the itchy vagina? Okay it doesn’t look nice to scrawb at your bits when in the company of people, but an itch is an itch and made for scratching. And another thing is, what must people think for why you scratch i.e. pubic lice (crabs) or maybe VD might even cross their mind. Now you can always retreat around the corner out of sight to scratch, or find the root cause for your itchy vagina and cure it. There are many reasons accountable for a vaginal itch or anus one. If you itch because you have a vaginal rash then this is easily treated and rid using home treatments, however and more often than not an itchy vagina comes about from vaginal infections.

One infection strongly connected for causing an itch is vaginal thrush. As with specific infections they can also affect the vaginal opening and surrounding skin along with pain. Bear in mind that not all women get the symptoms associated with infection but if they do, the way they cope and respond to vaginal treatments can differ greatly. There are 3 common infections we address on a regular basis and the reason why is, because it is normally one of them that is responsible for a vaginal itch.

If you experience vulval discomfort then we look towards the thrush infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichomonas vaginalis and herpes simplex.

Thrush

Thrush as we are aware is caused by a fungal organism called Candida albicans which lives in our bodies. Candida albicans grow and mass around the genitals which bring on thrush symptoms. Clarified symptoms are a white, thick, yeasty smelling vaginal discharge, and a very itchy sore and red vulval region. Sometimes the rectum (anal) opening can also become painfully itchy. Most Vaginal infections excluding some STDs are treated with antifungal drugs, vaginal creams, and vaginal pessaries. Creams and pessaries which need inserting inside the vagina can however cause burning and skin irritation similar to the thrush infection. Because of this confusion comes to the fore over whether it ‘s the side effects of the treatment or the symptoms of the infection. Although vaginal treatments are deemed safe – particular feminine products have to be ideal for you and the infection you suffer from. If vulval skin is itchy and sore then cream can help with easing discomfort. Some medications come in oral form. Personal preference will prevail for whatever treatment you use, however if it is not a 100% for clearing your infection then it is waste of time and money leaving you still infected. Temporary cures are not want you want you want rid and gone forever. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding consult with GP before using vaginal treatments.

Treatment for thrush can be obtained from the pharmacy but talk to the pharmacist before purchase because; it is possible to mis-use treatments for vaginal itching/soreness that are not thrush. Wrong treatments may lead to long-standing vulval problems and can worsen the condition you set out to heal.

Don’t let anyone tell you any different that after being diagnosed with thrush that you have been sexually active. Thrush is not a sexually transmitted infection. Thrush does not always cause symptoms in men and may present as balanitis or a non-specific urethritis (NSU.)

Bacterial Vaginosis

Bacterial Vaginosis also like thrush bringing soreness, burning and itching of the vulva but hardly ever sees redness or swelling. We associate the unpleasant fishy smell with bacterial Vaginosis and a smelly grey or white vaginal discharge. Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) happens when the good bacteria in the vagina are removed to make way for bad bacteria. So it is bad bacteria we look to treat and destroy to ease soreness, relieve itching and rid the fishy smell. Because of similar symptoms it is easy to think you have thrush when you have BV. Bacterial Vaginosis is the more severe out of the two infections because it can lead to internal infection called pelvic inflammatory disease.

Trichomonas Vaginalis

Have you been diagnosed with having Trichomonas Vaginalis but at the time of diagnosis did not hear clearly or understand what the GP had to say. This happens regular where a woman might have been frightened by the medical term used for her condition and goes home none the wiser. Well Trichomoniasis or Trich as it is called at times is a vaginal infection which causes vulva soreness, reddening and inflammation. A common symptom of Trich is a foamy, yellow greenish vaginal discharge. Some women feel pain when weeing. The organism responsible for the symptoms is a parasite in the vaginal mucus. It spreads through penetrative vaginal sex and the exchange of vaginal fluid, meaning, sharing sex toys or sex gadgets.

Herpes Simplex is a viral infection

This virus exists in two types. Herpes simplex type 1 appears as cold sores around the mouth, and herpes simplex type 2 involves the genitals. When the infection first takes hold, painful sores show on the vulva and vagina. It may hurt to urinate as urine is acidic and stings if it comes in contact with herpes sores. Other symptoms include a tingly and itchy vagina, swollen glands in the groin and general flu-like symptoms. Swollen glands or flu-like symptoms only happen during the first attack.

As with particular viral infections, there is no permanent way of ridding herpes and its recurrence.

Now we have covered vaginal infections let us focus on the vaginal rash and how to treat it. This should not take long as it is just simply water that will do the trick. There are solutions for soothing but just keeping the vagina fresh airy and dry will speed up the recovery process making this the best solution.

Candida albicans fungus is a type of yeast that is naturally present in the human intestine. This fungus can lead to a problem only if it is given the opportunity to grow and break out causing an infection. Monilia is another name for this type of bacteria that is mostly present in or near other mucous membranes, like the rectum, mouth, and vagina. An outbreak can become more dangerous if it passes into the blood, thereby affecting other organs and bodily functions.

Candida albicans fungus requires a warm moist place to grow. Overgrowth in the fungus can lead to a Candida infection. One common causes of Candida infections is the overuse of antibiotics which destroy some of the harmful microorganisms in the body, but also kill the friendly, yeast regulating bacteria. The root cause of Candida infections is typically the lack of friendly bacteria within the digestive tract. Aside from antibiotics, cortisone and birth control pills are also major culprits.

Yeast overgrowth is sometimes called a Candida infection. Candida albicans thrush is an overgrowth of the infection when it occurs in the mouth, particularly infants. Vaginitis, or yeast infections, are characterized by white or yellow discharge and inflammation of the vulva and walls of the vagina. An overgrowth in the colon and intestines happens with the over consumption of alcohol, sugars, and antibiotics.

Some of the symptoms, aside from swelling and discomfort, can include fatigue, lethargy, and even motility. For instance, if food is not able to be eliminated through the colon, then the resulting motility can cause fatigue. Dietary choices and food allergies are usually the contributing factors. Generally, undigested food within the intestinal tract can provide nourishment and a home for monilia. Furthermore, the warm and moist colon walls and unbalanced pH environment can increase their growth.

Thrush, for instance, can be visible on the tongue having a creamy white or bluish patch like appearance. It can also be present on the lining of the mouth and throat. If the skin becomes inflamed, then the tissue would appear beefy red. A diaper rash can also result from the warm, moist environment. Other types of infections can affect the fingernails and even the penis, which is referred to as balanitis or Candida penis.

Once in the blood (systemic), a whole host of other issues and symptoms can occur. If the monilia reaches the kidneys, it can produce blood in the urine, for instance. In the heart, valve damage can occur as well as heart murmurs. Lung infections can be evidenced by bloody sputum. Eyes can also be affected with sharp pain and blurry vision. After reaching the brain, it can cause seizures and erratic behavior. However, this is only for the extremely rare, more serious condition.

For Candida treatment there are a number of drugs, such as antifungals, that can be effective. Some of these include nystatin, Diflucan, Lamisil. For diaper rashes, a barrier cream can also be used along with frequent diaper changes. Some of the more natural remedies can include: grapefruit seed extract and garlic. However, eliminating certain sugars, and including a high fiber diet, can be very effective in its prevention and control. Those with a proclivity to Candida albicans should keep their skin clean and dry since Candida albicans fungus loves warm and moist environments.

Almost everyone can be at risk when it comes to Candida albicans. However, the following would fall under a higher risk category: babies with a diaper rash, obesity, diabetics, women who take high dose contraceptives, pregnant women, and people who overuse antibiotics. The best prevention is to maintain a clean, dry, and healthy environment for the skin and intestines. It also is advisable that if one is uncertain about any aspect of this disease that they check out Candidia albicans fungus symptoms.

What is A Yeast Infection?

Yeast infections are caused by a fungal type of yeast known as Candida Albicans (formerly known as Monilia). This is actually common yeast, exists naturally in a warm, moist, airless, damp area particularly in genital areas, mouth and gastrointestinal tract. Yeast infections triggers when the natural balances of bacteria in the body is disturbed, thus cause Candida to multiply unchecked.

In vast majority, women suffer vaginal yeast infection (also called vulvovaginal candidiasis). This happen when natural defenses in vagina (mucus and ‘friendly’ bacteria) get upset by certain causes and no longer able to protect vagina from infections.

In most men, yeast infections are caused by the same Candida as in women. This inflammation of the head of the penis is called Candidal Balanitis. However, this type of infections is much less common.

What are the signs and symptoms?

Inflammation – skin becomes red (erythema), swollen, cracks, hot or sore.

Itching and irritation in the vagina.

Vaginal discharge – odorless, white, thick (like cottage cheese) or with pus (purulent).

Dysuria – feeling discomfort and pain during urination.

Superficial dyspareunia – feeling discomfort and pain during sexual intercourse.

As for men, there is inflammation of the head of the penis (often in the skin folds).

Who will likely get Yeast Infection?

Pregnant women – due to psychological and hormonal change, emotional stress (cause weaker immune system therefore less able to counteract infections) and food cravings (often the types of food that yeast likes to feed on).

Babies – due to undeveloped immune system and from infected mothers through giving birth or breastfeeding.

Women – due to diabetes, antibiotics intake and weakened immune system.

Men – due to diabetes, uncircumcised (yeast are likely to grow in the folds under the foreskin) and sexually transmitted (though no clear evidence for this).

People who use steroid inhalers for asthma or other lung conditions.

What are the causes?

Pregnancy – hormonal changes, stress and food cravings.

Diabetes – increased blood sugar level (yeast love to feed on sugar) and lack of key nutrients to impair immune system.

Antibiotics intake – some antibiotics kill ‘friendly’ bacteria that helps prevent yeast infections.

Weak immune system – those with HIV/AIDS and recipients of cancer treatments (chemotherapy) have lack of ability to counteract the infections.

Douching – destroy the natural protection of normal yeast present in the vagina.

Hormonal change – due to monthly cycle or birth control.

Poor hygiene – lack of awareness and practice.

Contraceptives – oral contraceptives may raise the risk of yeast infections but not for all cases.

Sexual intercourse – oral sex may increased the risk to women (woman is the recipient of oral sex) while men may be transmitted from infected partners. Somehow, some doctors consider yeast infections as a common occurrence, not a sexually transmitted infection (STI).

Clothing – fitting cloth may inhibit the free flow of air onto the skin.

What are the treatments?

Oral Medication

Patients aged 12 to 16 – antifungal are given such as Fluconazole or Itraconazole.

Women with sores in the vulva – topical creams are given such as Clotrimazole or Econazole.

Non-prescription, single dose tablet is available OTC (over-the-counter) in most countries such as Fluconazole.

Side-effects – upset stomach, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation and/ or bloating.

Intravaginal Medication

Also called Intravaginal Pessaries.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women – they are given Clotrimazole, Econazole or Miconazole.

It is recommended to insert a pessary by hand rather than using an applicator as it might cause injury to the cervix.

Can cause mild irritation, damage latex condoms and diaphragms (contraceptives).

Probiotics Supplements (natural remedies)

Also known as ‘friendly’ bacteria, probiotics are proven to suppress the growth of Candida.

Examples are Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GR-1 and Lactobacillus Fermentum RC-14.

Boric Acid Suppositories (natural remedies)

A type of mild antiseptic and antifungal.

Available in pharmacies, it usually contains herbs and natural substances.

Not to be taken by mouth, or on open wounds due to the toxicity.

Not meant for pregnant women and children.

Side-effects may include vaginal irritation and burning.

In fact, holistic techniques will be rather greater approach to cure yeast infections. The natural essences are known to tackle the conditions right from the root causes. It is safe, proven and wonderfully works.

Useful Tips

Wear loose, cotton underclothes. Avoid jeans and pantyhose

Avoid douching, perfumed soaps or shower gels to wash vaginal area. Simply use plain water.

Avoid using lubricants, latex condoms and spermicidal creams.

For diabetes patient, always monitor blood sugar levels and keep it normal.

For men, circumcised may reduce the risk of infections. However, if uncircumcised, paying greater attention to personal hygiene may prevent the risk.

In this type the bloodstream is highly infected. It is highly recommended to see a doctor to cure this disease under whose observation you are during a treatment undergoing for cancer or HIV virus, during which from an infected syringe you can catch the germs.

Candida yeast infection is a very common disease and more and more people worry they may be suffering from it. Therefore there are a few questions people are asking them most often.

The first most common question is: do I have a Candida yeast infection?

Well, the answer to this question can be found in the symptoms which are characteristic for this disease. The most common symptoms are itching and the feeling of irritation in the vaginal area; redness or swelling of the vulva; a white, thick, unpleasant discharge which looks similar to cottage cheese and which has no scent, although sometimes it could smell like yeast; the feeling of burning whenever urinating or having sex.

These are the most common symptoms for Candida yeast infection. But these symptoms are also similar to other vaginal infections or sexually transmitted diseases. Therefore you should always consult a doctor or a gynaecologist whenever having these symptoms. The doctor will give you the right Candida treatment, if it is necessary in your case.

The second most common question is: are men immune to yeast infections? Well, men don’t really get these vaginal yeast infections. Because they don’t have a vagina! But there is an infection similar to Candida yeast infection at women. This infection is called balanitis and its symptoms are similar to Candida yeast infection’s symptoms. This balanitis is an infection of the head of the penis and it is caused by the same overgrowth of the same Candida fungi. Men who are suffering from diabetes are also more exposed to this type of infection. Men can also have a discharge or red and itchy areas like women have.

Men who don’t have a circumcision must pay more attention to their hygiene in the genital area, focusing on the foreskin. The reason for this is the fact that the folds of the foreskin represent the perfect warm, moist environment for Candida fungi to multiply. Therefore, the foreskin area needs extra care for keeping it clean and dry.

And the third most asked question is: can anyone prevent getting a Candida yeast infection?

And the answer will be yes, definitely. The outfits you wear can prevent or cause a Candida yeast infection. Therefore you should avoid wearing nylon underwear, pantyhose, tight jeans, and tight exercise gear, wet bathing suits which are retaining moisture in the area as Candida fungi love this warm and moist environment. If you can’t avoid wearing these outfits, at least try to wear them for as little time as possible.

You should also pay attention to dyes or perfumes in shower gels, soaps or sanitary products as they may cause you irritation to the genital area. If you feel this kind of irritation happening, stop using the product and try switching to a perfume-free one.

Also keep your vagina clean and dry. Give up on nylon underwear and use the healthier cotton one. Avoid wearing too tight jeans or pantyhose. And don’t take antibiotics unless the doctor has prescribed them especially to you.

Try to follow these few rules and you will never have to worry about getting a Candida yeast infection!

If a woman is diagnosed with having a yeast infection, her concerns may not be directly connected to the infection itself due to her knowing that vaginal infections are treatable. It is the body part that the infection troubles that she might have the issue with like being “embarrassed.” Yeast infections are treated on a daily basis on women from around the globe regardless of skin colour. If you know what a vaginal yeast infection is, then you’ll know it`s not a life threatening condition but if you have no knowledge on the matter then it is good for you to get a better understanding. Doing this may help you accept the reason why it is happened and more importantly how to prevent it.

A yeast infection, also known as candidiasis is an infection caused by yeast called candida albicans (fungus) which love clammy body parts, such as the mouth and other moist areas. If a vaginal infection has occurred from this then it is known as vulvovaginal candidiasis. Yes it is a rather long word to remember let alone try to pronounce but don`t worry; your doctor will know what you mean after you explain your symptoms. Candida can outnumber for many reasons i.e. stress, pregnancy, and sicknesses that affect the immune system.

Although antibiotics are a powerful curing agent they can however destroy the “good” bacteria that naturally live in the human body. Good bacteria are a vital element in helping keep growth of candida in the vagina under control. Yeast flourish greatly if a young girl`s blood sugar is high. Before the start of periods (menstruation) is when we recognize this condition to happen in young girl`s due to hormonal changes. Material tightness around the genitals can give rise for a yeast infection. Douching and particular scented bathroom products can upset the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina and make yeast infections more likely. Some women believe it necessary to use perfumed products on their vagina, well stop believing because the vagina would be a far healthier organ without feminine sweetness. Never douche unless under GP orders. Use specially created soaps/cream-washes for bathing the vagina. Speak to the counter assistant in the chemist on the best products purposely devised not to irritate or cause vaginal infections.

What to look out for if you have yeast infection:

itchy vagina

irritation in the vagina

redness and swelling,

itchy vulva

white discharge thick in consistency and appearing clotted with a yeasty smell,

pain/burning when urinating or during sexual intercourse

Discharge is an obvious sign of a yeast infection, and usually one of the first symptoms to show. Not everyone gets the discharge. If there is itching in and outside the vagina then you can tell from this. Each individual differs, and due to these differences symptoms can differ also, in terms of type and intensity. A man infected sees the head of his penis affected. The male infection is also seen as caused by the same candida (Balanitis.) Balanitis symptoms, redness, sore or itchy penis tip and sometimes discharge.

Help prevent yeast infections.

Yeast develops in a clammy, moist milieu. Keep genital area dry and airy. Give genital site room to breathe. If possible go without underwear when you can. Clothing items to avoid are tight jeans, Lycra, nylon knickers, tights, and other synthetic materials that lock in moisture. Do this and you help reduce yeast infections occurring. Scented soaps, bubble baths/lotions, and just in general washing detergents can be accountable for irritation which then gives way for yeast infections. Wear loose breathable fabrics that allow you, not only space, but contribute to airing the vagina. Wear all-cotton panties. Keep the vagina/anus dry and free from sweat. If you feel the vaginal area moistening up then bathe, dry and air. Remove wet bathing costumes or trunks as soon as. If you feel restriction on movement while wearing items as such then this tells you they are not ideal. Do you need to see a doctor? Yes it makes sense. What you might believe to be a yeast infection may not be. It is due to much confusion that women have as many vaginal problems like they do. They tend to treat their ailments with inappropriate vaginal creams which are unhealthy and dangerous.

Have your GP determine your condition, since other vaginal infections are akin in symptoms but require different medications. You may be asked to bring along to your appointment a sample of urine – to rule out a urinary tract infection. A smidgen of vaginal discharge maybe requested for tests. If you have been diagnosed with a yeast infection your prescription may include oral medication (tablets) or a vaginal cream or suppository. Whatever the medicine follow all instructions accordingly. A suppository will come with an applicator to assist you with vaginal insertion. If you find this uncomfortable do speak with a nurse at the clinic. A yeast infection nearly always clears up with prescriptive drugs and normally as quick as in 7 days. Some women prefer using vaginal cream than other for relieving their vaginal itch.

Both non-prescription and prescription medications are 90% effective regardless of time scale. A short time course of treatment will not make a slightest bit of difference to that of taking a long time course. Shorter treatments contain higher doses of healing ingredients while longer treatments contain less. The people we spoke of earlier whose worry lie with the embarrassment thing will more times look to find a home remedy for a cure in hope to avoid a doctor`s appointment. If you be one of these people who blush easily and is looking to treat your own yeast infection, then make sure you know what you are doing?

Have you ever heard of “Reishi,” it is a homemade solution concocted up from a medicinal mushroom and widely used in Japan as a treatment? Consult your GP before trying unfamiliar treatments and practicing unknown methods. You only need a little quantity of the mushrooms to feel them working. The good thing about Reishi is, it comes in many ways so you will find one way to suit. It can be added to tea, applied as a tincture or put in syrups, and most common in tablet form. Some people find it hard to swallow tablets so therefore these options give them choice. As we speak there has been no indication to say a patient suffering with a yeast infection has had side effects from taking Reishi, nevertheless there is always the first time for everything. Monitor yourself while medication is in progress. Another home remedy is called Osha which is effective in fighting bacteria as well as yeast cells, but more importantly for ridding the infection.

Eat yogurt, aside from helping in the vaginal quarters, it is a healthy eat. Yoghurt contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that kill yeast. Smooth plain yogurt into the vagina using a finger. Be careful and just gently rub no harsh hand movement. Take your time and make sure you’re comfortable before you begin the procedure. Take lactobacillus/acidophilus supplements. Use according to the directions on the bottle. Never do other than suggested in the instructions as it won`t speed up the curing process and you can make matters worse. Cut down on sugar and sweet foods. Yeast growth is hurried along by sugar.

Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent. Peel a fresh clove, wrap it in gauze and insert it into the vagina. Garlic has wondrous benefits for many things. Years ago garlic was rubbed on an open wound before an operation. Call into your local herbal shop or chemist and ask to speak to the herbalist or pharmacist about gentian violet or a herbal douche.

If other women treat their Vaginal Thrush infection then why don’t you – Do you have a Vaginal Odor and want to rid it?
